different building forms for our tiny homes

Small homes. Smart design. We love small (or tiny) homes, not just because they’re lower cost or use fewer resources, but because they prompt better questions. How much space do you actually need? How can you make space work harder, not bigger?

One book that really influenced our thinking is Small Homes - The Making Of Bouwexpo Tiny Housing In Almere by Jacqueline Tellinga. It’s full of examples that challenge conventional assumptions about house size… and shows just how liveable a small home can be when it’s well designed.

At Wudl, we apply the same principles across all our buildings, but they really come into their own in smaller homes. Careful attention to layout, storage, daylight, and natural materials makes a huge difference. Our prefabricated system means we can build compact homes that feel generous, healthy, and high-performing, whether for full-time living, holiday use, or as part of a wider development.

Small homes don’t mean compromise. Done well, they can be life-enhancing.
